Our Mission

“To ensure the success of your next project, we pride ourselves in building a superior team using the three dog team (sled dog) concept…
  • Lead Dog – steer the team, set the pace
  • Swing Dog – speed and endurance
  • Wheel Dog – temperament, steadiness and ability
This concept enables focus, endurance and capability to create the perfect team that becomes stronger with the run.”

- Pam Foxx

3 dog productions is an event production and management company created by two friends in early 2009.   Many years of thoughtful work with non-profits and event/entertainment oriented companies gave us the background on which to base our decision. Involvement with many community volunteer groups and a commitment to making Greensboro a better place for all to live and grow gave us the initial idea. Age and experience led us to the point in our lives when choices are more important than career advancements.

Early into our venture, we decided to follow a phrase attributed to John Burroughs, Jimmy Buffet, and unnamed Zen masters:  Leap, and the net will appear.  We decided that with age and wisdom we can do creative things for ourselves now.  Thus, we spent months talking, laughing, thinking and asking questions of ourselves and of each other.

What were the highlights – the best things that the years had provided?   Where could we find meaning in our lives and connect with who we are and how we want to live?  How could we combine the knowledge and experience that we have been fortunate to have received?  How could we use these assets to build a business that provides a source of income for both of us and in turn contributes to the community? The self-assessment was one of the most eye-opening events of my life. The act of taking this “new found” information and applying it to our target audience proved equally as enlightening.

As 3 dog productions goes into its third year of operation, I am the sole proprietor. I will continue our original creation and pledge to evolve and grow with the company. I will continue to create events and projects that will benefit local non-profit organizations as well as continue several projects that were started in 2009.  I will always have an open calendar of events because the goal is still to be able to react to the needs that may arise for an organization.  There are many like-minded people in our community who work miracles everyday and have done so for years. I salute their efforts and continue to learn that there are MANY huge, loving hearts in our community. The past two years have been tough, but they have also been a blessing. I know 3 dog productions has made significant contributions to the community. But those contributions are very small when compared to what has been given to me – and I am very grateful.  With hard work and a strong sense of purpose, we can continue to make a difference…and we will.

The economic struggles continue and like most companies, 3 dog productions continue to adjust to the changing economy and the needs of the business and our local community. Most local organizations are suffering from the economic cut-backs that have paralyzed many corporations.  Fundraising and/or event planning has become a burden to shrinking staff numbers and overwhelming to volunteers.  Revenue sources for those “extras” that we all enjoy have become almost not-existent. We have felt the crunch on our own household and our volunteer efforts.  Companies feel the crunch for marketing dollars and event participation. Individuals and families are looking for inexpensive family entertainment and ways to save on necessities. Many of us are looking for ways to supplement our income and protect our savings.

Now is the time that partnerships are most important. I like the SLED DOG concept that helped form the original format for this company.
